Modeling of autophagosome formation

Yuji Sakai

Abstract:
We discuss the mechanism of autophagosome formation from a physical point of view.
In the dynamics, a shape transition occurs from flat to curled membrane while some proteins localize at the rim.
We make a model that incorporates both dynamics of the shape transition and the protein partitioning.
Our model recapitulates and explains features of the dynamics of the autophagosome formation.
