Crystallographic order and magnetism in UCo1/3T2/3Al compounds (T = Ru, Rh, Pt)

Research output: Contribution to journalConference articleResearchpeer-review

We report on neutron diffraction studies of UCo1/3T2/3Al solid solutions, where T = Ru, Pt or Rh. Preferential occupation of two non-equivalent sites by the transition metals was determined for each compound. In addition, long-range magnetic order was confirmed for all three compounds. Correlations between the crystallographic and magnetic structures are discussed in terms of the 5f-ligand hybridization.
