We can offer to more than 600 students a 3-year bachelor degree followed by a 2-year graduate degree and a 3-year PhD study. Fundamental Research is based on observations, fieldwork, laboratory experiments and theoretical models for the purpose of understanding basic laws and complex truths on this world. The institute prioritizes the communication of news within research and hosts numerous arrangements where pupils from both primary and secondary level schools as well as the public in general can experience the world of physics and physicists. The Niels Bohr Institute is the unification of the four earlier institutes for the physical sciences at Copenhagen University: The Astronomic Observatory, The Ørsted Laboratory, The Geophysical Institute and The Niels Bohr Institute.
The dynamic research at the Niels Bohr Institute spans Astronomy, Geophysics, Nanophysics, Particles Physics, Quantum Physics and Biophysics. We explore the smallest sub-atomic particles to stars and planets, gamma rays and distant galaxies in the universe.
