Title: State sum models with defects
Abstract:
State sum models have applications ranging from statistical mechanics,
(topological) quantum field theory to representation theory. We present an
informal introduction to state sum models of Turaev Viro type, with a
particular emphasis on surface defects and generalizations of such models beyond
semisimplicity.
