Expat Day at the Niels Bohr Institute – Niels Bohr Institute - University of Copenhagen

Expat day

“Expat day” is a yearly event organized by the NBI´s HR department to welcome expatriate staff at the NBI.

  • The event is for all the new expats and their spouses, but Danes are also welcome.
  • It is an informal event where the Head of Institute warmly welcomes all our new expats.
  • We strongly encourage all our new expats along with faculty staff to participate.

With this event NBI first and foremost intend to make all expats and their families feel welcome here at the institute. Moreover, this is an opportunity for all newcomers to meet other employees from other research groups at NBI.

The duration of the event is four hours, including a talk from an anthropologist on Danish culture and habits. In addition, experiences are shared from expats who arrived last year. ISM (International Staff Mobility) is also present to inform about their events and services.

The event culminates with a lunch where all staff at NBI is welcome to join in and help our newcomers to feel welcome.
