Computational Astrophysics

Our main activities are focussed around studies of astrophysical magnetohydrodynamics - turbulence and magnetism - and relativistic plasma dynamics, in the contexts of

  • Gamma-Ray Bursts
  • Galaxy Formation
  • Star Formation
  • Planet Formation
  • Stellar Atmospheres and Activity
  • Solar Physics

Front line theoretical research in these areas is to a large extent based on advanced supercomputer modeling. Most of the group's computing is done at the Danish Center for Scientific Computing, in particular at the DCSC/KU node. The group has a close collaboration with colleagues at Nordita, as well as with collaborators around the world.
