QUANTOP
Danish National Research Foundation
Center for Quantum Optics
Danish National Research Foundation Center for Quantum Optics - QUANTOP was founded in 2001 and is funded until 2012. The Center involves research groups at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen and at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Aarhus.
The research activities of the Center are carried out at four groups:

We concentrate on quantum state engineering for light, atoms and ions, including entangled, squeezed and other interesting states. Quantum information processing, including quantum computing, quantum teleportation, quantum cryptography and quantum memory, is one of the major directions of our research. Studies of ultra-cold atoms, both fundamental research on its properties and dynamics, and applications to quantum information processing and precision measurements are carried out theoretically and experimentally.
Director of the Center:
Professor Eugene Polzik / polzik@nbi.dk
QUANTOP maintains close collaboration with the Lundbeck Theory Center.
Recently the Quantum Information Theory group was part of QUANTOP. This group have now moved to the Technical University of Munich.
