    Primary fields of research

    • Theoretical quantum optics: I develop theories involving quantum mechanics, atoms, and light.

    • Implementation of quantum information: I develop theories for how one can realize a quantum computer, which uses the peculiar properties of quantum mechanics to perform certain computational task much faster than regular computers.

    • Ultracold atoms: I develop theories for atomic gases cooled to temperatures near the absolute zero.
