Cosmic Explosions

Supernova - exploding stars and gamma-ray bursts
Danish astronomers are among the world leaders in the quest for cosmic explosions. Cosmic explosions such as supernovae and gamma-ray bursts play a very important role in modern astronomy. It is thanks to these extreme events that we have discovered the accelerating expansion of the Universe and found the first objects that formed after the Big Bang.
