Aspect film

The French physicist, Professor Alain Aspect was awarded the Niels Bohr Gold Medal 2013 for his groundbreaking experiments in atomic physics and quantum optics. The experiments settled the legendary dispute between Bohr and Einstein about the fundamental understanding of atomic physics by proving the fascinating phenomenon of entanglement, which lays the foundation for research in quantum information.

Alain Aspect is the Augustin Fresnel Professor and a CNRS researcher (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) at the Institut d'Optique and a professor at the Ecole Polytechnique.

In 2005, he received the Médaille d'or du CNRS, and on that occasion a film was produced about Aspect and his work.
