Christian Holm Christensen receives Ph.D prize

Christian Holm Christensen, a Post.Doc. with the research group for experimental particle physics, HEHI at the Niels Bohr Institute and who works with the ALICE experiment at CERN has been crowned as the winner of 'BEST PH.D. THESIS AWARD for 2008’.

The prize is awarded by the ALICE collaboration, which includes over 1000 physicists from 115 research groups from 30 countries. Christian Holm was one of approximately 200 entrants.

Christian Holm is currently residing at CERN next to the new 27 km long Large Hadron Collider, LHC accelerator, where he is helping to make ready the Danish Forward Multiplicity Detector, one of the detectors contributing centrally to the very first scientific experiments that begin at LHC in August this year.
