VLTI and Proto Stellar Disks

Starformation is a field in development. With new instruments like the Very Large Telescope Interferometer we are able to see into the clouds where the stars form.

In this talk I intend to give an overview of the different types of stellar disks and in particular proto stellar disks. During this I will give a short and loose description of the theory behind proto stellar disks.

Having done that I turn to the methods used to find and analyse these disks and concentrate on the VLTI and the instrument AMBER.

I close with examples of what has been found so far.
