"Fermionizing a Few 1-D Bosons: Crossover Mechanism and Tunneling Dynamics"

  This talk is about few-boson systems in 1-D traps in the crossover from weak  interactions to the "fermionization" limit of infinite repulsion. In the first part, I lay out the mechanism of this crossover for single- and double-well traps. The second part is devoted to its impact on the tunneling dynamics of a few bosons in a double well. It will be shown how the tunneling of two atoms evolves from Rabi oscillations to correlated pair tunneling as we increase the interaction strength. As an outlook, I discuss how many-body effects modify the picture and how the tunneling can be controlled by tilting the wells.
