Gravitational Microlensing. From Observation to Model

Microlensing has in several cases proven to be able to detect

extra-solar planets, and several collaborations are working to catch

the signatures from planets around other stars.

The Ph.D. defense will shortly explain the theory behind microlensing

and how the PLANET collaboration follows microlensing events. Focus

will be on how we are able to determine aspects of the lensing system

through computer modelling, which would otherwise have been impossible

to determine.
