Theoretical High Energy Seminar

There are several observations related to the Solar system which until now fail to be explained within standard physics. These observations are  the (i) the Pioneer anomaly, (ii) the flyby anomaly, (iii) a reported increase of rhe astronomical unit, and (iv) the quadrupole and octupole anomaly of the Cosmic Microwave Background. After a general description of these observations we go into more detail regarding possible explanations of the Pioneer anomaly. Among others, we describe (i) the influence of dust in the Solar system, (ii) the effect of the cosmic expansion on the scale of the Solar system, (iii) modified gravity approaches, and (iv) the influence of heat radiation.
