Generation and characterization of sub-3 femtosecond pulses in the

Ultrashort light pulses in the deep ultraviolet and vacuum ultraviolet are expected to play a central role in modern attosecond spectroscopy. These pulses are generated by nonlinear frequency upconversion of few-cycle near-infrared laser pulses in noble gases. As a dispersionless temporal characterization technique, an all-reflective interferometric autocorrelation based on multi-photon ionization of Krypton was modelled and implemented. Using this method, first pulses in the deep ultraviolet shorter than 3 femtoseconds were characterized."
