Postdoc in theoretical condensed matter physics at the Center for Quantum Devices and Microsoft Station Q Copenhagen

The Center for Quantum Devices is a basic research center supported by the Danish National Research Foundation, comprising materials research, experimental physics, and condensed matter theory. Station Q Copenhagen is a research center sponsored by Microsoft Research aimed at developing topological quantum information processing hardware.

The position

The Center for Quantum Devices and Station Q Copenhagen are seeking a theoretical postdoc with a strong background in theoretical condensed matter physics and knowledge about, and preferably research experience with, topological superconductors and/or dynamics of quantum information systems. The research topics of the position can cover materials issues, interaction effects, novel devices designs for induced topological superconductivity in hybrid semiconductor-superconductor systems, as well as the use of Majorana bound states for quantum computation purposes.

The position is embedded in condensed matter theory group at the Center for Quantum Devices and in the experimental group at Microsoft Station Q, Copenhagen. The successful candidate is therefore expected to also have experience or interests in working in collaborative experiment-theory environment.

The University wishes our staff to reflect the diversity of society and thus welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of personal background.
