Mechanical technician at Microsoft Quantum – Copenhagen and the Center for Quantum Devices

The Center for Quantum Devices is a basic research center supported by the Danish National Research Foundation, comprising materials research, experimental physics, nanoelectronics and condensed matter theory.
The position  
Microsoft Quantum - Copenhagen and the Center for Quantum Devices are looking for an experienced all-round mechanical technician. You will be a part of the team of technicians and engineers that help maintain and develop our wide range of complex research equipment. The candidate is expected to contribute within the following areas:  
 
• Machining using CNC as well as manual machines  
• Technical collaborations with research teams for the development of mechanics for the fabrication and measurement facility  
• Maintain and trouble-shoot research equipment in collaboration with the technical team  
• Mechanical 3D CAD design (Autodesk Inventor)  
• Help in the installation of new equipment  
 
The position is open from August 1st, 2018 or by arrangement.  
 
The candidate  
The successful candidate should be passionate about mechanics and have at least a training as a machinist. Initially, we expect that the candidate will assist with existing projects (Maintenance, making small mechanical designs, mounting designs in setups, install fabrication equipment etc) and will then later take on his or her own projects. A strong will to work with multi-disciplinary tasks is essential and a broad knowledge of relevant areas like vacuum technique, pneumatics, and basic electrical skills is desirable.

Terms of appointment and payment  
The position has a duration of 1 year. Related long term position will be advertised during this year.  
 
Salary, pension and terms of employment are in accordance with the rules of the collective agreement between the Ministry of science and Public Employees (OAO-S collective agreement) and under the collective agreement for skilled workmen in the State.
